In this edge site recovery demo, a retail store runs on a single VergeOS 26.2 server, is protected by site sync, and is recovered at the main data center.

Why Single-Server Sites Matter
Retail stores, branch offices and plant floors are often too small to justify a full cluster, so they stay on VMware long after the main data center moves. VergeOS 26.2 lets a remote site run on one server with two network connections and no core network.
Every site runs the same VergeOS as the main data center and takes the same upgrade, and the main data center and every site come together in one management interface. Site sync replicates the store back to the core, where it can come up in a virtual data center if the site is lost.
The demo follows one store from normal operation, through protection with site sync, to recovery at the main site. The store’s application comes back up in a virtual data center at the core, ready to serve orders while the site is repaired or replaced. Because the store runs the same VergeOS as the core, recovery needs no second platform to learn or maintain.
