Veeam provides data protection and ransomware recovery for organizations from SMB to enterprise, with more than 550,000 customers worldwide. Veeam Backup & Replication 13.1 added VergeOS as a fully supported hypervisor through the Universal Hypervisor API.
In Veeam’s own words, VergeOS “has been integrated into the Veeam Universal Hypervisor API and is now a fully supported hypervisor in Veeam Backup & Replication.” A customer running Veeam today keeps the product, the licensing, the policies defended in audits, and the staff who know the console. The platform underneath changes, and the data protection decision does not have to be reopened.
